Details of the assassination of a Russian general on his doorstep revealed
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 1 that a lieutenant general of his Guard regiment had been killed at his home in Moscow, calling the incident a "terrorist attack." The lieutenant general was shot while on duty and died instantly.
In this case, however, we learned something more detailed. According to the local police, the lieutenant general, Andrei Saveliev, was a senior general in the Russian army's headquarters. He was assassinated at his home, and his body and pistol were found at the scene.
On the night of the crime, Mr. Saviliev's wife and his daughter returned home. But soon after, her husband suddenly disappeared, and the family was unable to get through to him when they tried to reach him. They later found him beaten to death in the bathroom of his home.
The investigation into the case is continuing, but the police have identified Mr. Saviliev as a Russian army general and former chief of staff. His family was shocked by his disappearance and said they would provide more information and support to the police.
This incident has attracted great attention from the international community. Many countries are calling on the Russian government to take measures to protect national security and strengthen anti-terrorism operations. At the same time, some people believe that this may be an internal problem of the Russian government. They hope that Russia can deal with this problem in time to prevent similar things from happening again.
In general, although we do not yet know who the real murderer is, we do know how Saviliev was murdered and we have some background information about him and his family. We need to wait for the official investigation results in order to better understand the whole situation and make an appropriate response.
