14-Year-old girl admitted to ICU after swallowing 16 prescription drugs
Recently, a 14-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital for treatment after taking too many prescription drugs. According to local media reports, the girl mistakenly swallowed some larger doses of drugs while using the drugs prescribed by her doctor at home. The result was a severe physical reaction and she was eventually sent to the intensive care unit (ICU).
According to reports, the girl was taking a variety of medications used to treat pain and other ailments. However, during her own administration of these medications, she did not notice the differences between the medications and may have been misbehaving due to a lack of medical knowledge.
Doctors say the practice is very dangerous and can cause irreversible harm or death to patients. They stress that if people need to use any medication, it is best to do so under the guidance of a doctor rather than deciding for themselves which medications to use and how to use them.
In addition, doctors also reminded the public to raise awareness about the safe use of medicines in children. They pointed out that many children do not understand the correct way to use medicines, so parents should provide detailed explanations and instructions to their children before using them.
This incident reminds us once again that both adults and children should use drugs correctly under the guidance of professionals. At the same time, we should also strengthen the education of children on safe medication to prevent similar tragedies from happening.
